The planet of transformation, Pluto, has been retrograde for a few months and is going to turn direct on October 10th 2023, in Capricorn. It turned retrograde on May 1st, 2023, but was originally in Aquarius and moved back to Capricorn on June 11th, 2023.
It’s since been retrograde in Capricorn, and this is now coming to an end in just a few days. What does this Pluto direct in Capricorn have in store for us?

About Pluto’s Transit of Capricorn
Pluto takes a long time to move through one zodiac sign, the longest of the planets, and in transit, Pluto brings passionate, intense energy to transform and empower.
Since Pluto spends a long period in each sign, it’s been in Capricorn since 2008, so for over a decade. Capricorn is an Earth sign (along with Taurus and Virgo), ruling our goals, careers, and direction, so Pluto in Capricorn has made us transform where we’re going and what we’re achieving.
Capricorn also rules governments, corporations, and basically anyone in charge, so we’ve fittingly seen some major upheaval and changes with these things over the last 15 years. Capricorn rules the status quo and the traditional ways, and we’ve also been challenged to transform what’s always been and think about what could be.
Pluto is nearing the end of its time in Capricorn, though, and already started moving into Aquarius back in March. It’ll stay in Capricorn until January 20th, 2024, and then comes back for a brief stint from September 1st to November 19th, 2024, and closes the book on Capricorn.
Now that we’ve only got a few more months left of Pluto in Capricorn, we’re finalizing transformations that have already begun, wanting to get things finished before we move on to Pluto in Aquarius. That’s the start of a whole new Pluto cycle, but we need to end the Pluto in Capricorn cycle first.
This has likely been extremely important in the last few months with Pluto retrograde since retrogrades have more subconscious, karmic energy (so we’ve been in tune with our Pluto karma), and chaotic energy slows when Pluto is retrograde, giving us a chance to adjust.
With Pluto direct, we’re now back in forward motion (retrograde motion means it’s appearing to move backward). We’re pushing forward into the new cycle next year for good, and now, we’re wrapping things up.
Note that this turn direct occurs with Pluto sextile transit Neptune and square transit Mars. Sextiles are beneficial aspects, so Pluto and Neptune are playing nice with each other, and we can use passion for creativity, compassion, and intuition, and can use creativity to empower ourselves and intuitively take control.
Squares are challenging aspects, so Pluto and Mars aren’t playing so nice with each other. This aspect might rile us up, and we can be extra frustrated and aggravated about something or easily provoked.
We likely need to have a healthy outlet for the extra energy available to us and work on channeling this productively. Otherwise, we can lash out.
