Your Weekly Tarotscope: December 18th – 24th, 2023

The infamous words “Mercury retrograde” are still in play.

Mercury’s retrograde will move into Sagittarius on the 23rd, indicating a need for extra thoughtfulness and tact (as you may otherwise find yourself more easily prone to jumping to conclusions or saying things you don’t mean).

Thankfully, Capricorn season will also be beginning earlier in the week (on the 21st), bringing us a down-to-earth, productive energy that can encourage us to think long-term.

The contrast of these two impulses and energies may be difficult to work with at first, but they also might balance each other out in a way that’s difficult to notice at first glance.

Let’s see how they’re likely to intermingle for you this week… but by referring to the Tarot instead of the stars.

Your Sign’s Weekly Tarotscope for December 18 – 24, 2023

Aries

The Devil

Aries, the baggage you’re handling this week may seem a little heavy.

The Devil indicates that this week is a big one, and the temptation to leap back into old habits, reconnect with old flames, or perhaps just throw caution to the wind and try something reckless to get away from it all… it’ll be hard to resist.

This card isn’t meant to be all gloom and doom — there’s a quality lesson in here about what’s really important to you, and you have a choice this week to decide whether you’d like to truly move on or feel stuck in the old ways.

Taurus

6 of Swords (Reversed)

Although you may desperately need to, Taurus is resisting moving on to bigger and better things.

The 6 of Swords is an uncomfortable but often necessary juncture in our journeys. This is where you move on from everything holding you back and tread bravely into a new unknown.

Reversed, you may be resisting moving on from something that no longer serves you, whether it’s a person, commitment, job, or even just an idea about yourself.

It’s time to be really honest with yourself about what you do and don’t need.

Gemini

The Hierophant

Gemini, know this: good things can be found in familiar places.

The Hierophant is a positive omen for progress being made in traditional structures — places of work, education, and under authority structures. The progress will be steady but generally very great.

It’s also a good sign for Geminis who want to speak their mind, teach, and impart information to others.

If you have something to say, this might be the week to say it.

Cancer

3 of Swords (Reversed)

Cancer struggled with the 3 of Cups reversed last week and is handling a different three entirely now.

The reversed 3 of Swords indicates that you’re attempting to move on from past heartbreak and emotional turmoil, but it’s not wildly easy.

These feelings of disconnect and loneliness aren’t fun to swallow, but your efforts to move on to something brighter and more positive aren’t going unseen.

There is light at the end of this tunnel (just at the end of the week instead of during).

Leo

The Tower

Leo is about to face a pretty chaotic reckoning in the form of The Tower.

This card can certainly make us take a few steps back in shock, wondering if we really have that much to look forward to at all (or if we should just brace ourselves for the worst possible impact).

The truth is that this chaos, no matter how unpredictable it may be, is ultimately just hear to clear the pathway, ridding your current journey of toxicity and debris.

It may not be obvious right now as to why some random moments of chaos and frustration are occurring… but trust the process here.

Virgo

6 of Wands

Virgo had been dealing with their fair share of battles and difficulties recently.

This week, you’re actually catching a break and getting a celebratory moment in the face of all that. The 6 of Wands points to social recognition, warmth, and upliftment in your sense of self.

This is a great week for saying “yes” to social events and gatherings. Find comfort and joy in spending time with others this week, as they may mirror back to you some of the best parts of yourself.

Most importantly, have fun!

Libra

3 of Cups (Reversed)

Libra may be tempted to go Hermit mode this week without that card even being on the table.

The 3 of Cups reversed highlights frustrations in connecting with others — feeling more emotionally and intuitively disconnected from your friends, loved ones, and wider social circles.

This doesn’t always happen for one reason in particular. Sometimes, we just don’t vibe or mesh with the people around us, and we need to wait for the dreary weather to pass.

Find patience, forgiveness, and grace with yourself and others this week.

Scorpio

8 of Swords (Reversed)

Scorpio isn’t interested in being held back anymore by anyone or anything at all.

The 8 of Swords is usually a deeply uncomfortable card of restrictions and being constricted by your own internal ideas of what you’re capable of and what surrounds you.

Although you’re known for being thoughtful and brooding, you’re not willing to be stuck in your own way. This week is about thoughtfully examining your own thought patterns and what behaviors may be holding you back.

Sagittarius

5 of Pentacles (Reversed)

Sagittarius has now received the 5 of Pentacles reversed two weeks in a row.

This card of grappling with past losses and failures is really haunting you. You’re still wrestling with that feeling of something being missing from your life (especially in your career and finances).

However, this card is an important reminder, above all, that you are the maker of your own path from this point forward.

Remember: you may have a gap in your life in the here and now, but that just means there is room for more love, abundance, and joy to take its place.

Capricorn

Queen of Wands

Capricorn, a confident and bright version of yourself, awaits.

Actually, it’s probably already emerged by the time the week has started, as the Queen of Wands certainly waits for no one.

This card asks you to embrace the confident, bold, adventurous, and outspoken side of yourself that knows how to lead maturely but also isn’t afraid of a little experimentation and creativity.

If you won’t do it for yourself… remember that it’s likely that others are looking to you for this very form of leadership, too.

Aquarius

Wheel of Fortune (Reversed)

Aquarius isn’t feeling particularly lucky this week, and that’s okay.

The Wheel of Fortune reversed is a frustrating signal that not everything is meant to go our way for the week ahead. It may feel like the Universe is rooting against, and not for, your success.

Although it’s important to validate and sit with those uncomfortable feelings, the truth is that sudden roadblocks and obstacles are more likely to be blessings in disguise than actual curses.

Keep this in mind this week… and do your best to trust the process.

Pisces

Justice

Pisces is graced with the elegant wisdom of Justice this week, a harbinger of balance and order.

This is a positive omen for any Pisceans who have been wanting to get their thoughts, plans, and ideas in order, needing some balance and structure in how they’re considering their next steps.

It’s also a green “go” signal for mediating discussions and holding any important conversations. Communication should flow with much more ease right now.
