Welcome to March, everyone!

This is a month of slow and fast energies, of holding your horses one moment, then racing off into the distance the next.

The first important transit of the month arrives on the 2nd, when action planet Mars wraps up its tour of cerebral Aquarius and moves into intuitive Pisces for the next six weeks. Mars does not operate at its best in this slippery Water sign, as it craves direction and firepower—two things Pisces does not have in abundance!

Venus enters Aries on the 6th, and this is rather like Mars in Pisces, in that this is not exactly a comfortable place for Venus to be. Venus is the Goddess of Love and Beauty, and wants to enjoy all the pleasures of life, while Aries rules Mars, and is all about the go-go-go and chasing after whatever catches its eye. Venus in Aries is like a huntress, pursuing her prey until she gets what she wants, but she may come to find that once she achieves her aims or desires, she doesn’t really want them or find them all that interesting anymore. While it is wonderful to feel such heat and desire, it can be easy to burn hot and cold during this cycle, so be extra conscious about how you pursue the things you want—especially in romantic terms—because what looks like treasure from far away could turn out to be trash up close.

March 10th is a wonderful day as abundant Jupiter, the planet of food fortune, turns direct in Cancer. After spending the last few months dozing in retrograde motion, we can now begin to seek new ways to expand our lives, and it will be especially easy because Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, meaning it operates at its absolute best here. Jupiter will remain in the sign of the crab until the start of July, when it enters Leo for a whole new adventure, so make the most of this fabulous energy while we’ve got it.

The annual Pisces New Moon arrives on the 18th, and it is wonderfully aspected with a helpful sextile to eclectic Uranus, encouraging us all to take an out-of-the-box approach to the new goals we set for ourselves in the days to follow. This New Moon marks the end of eclipse season, so we can now begin to manifest our own outcomes and guide our energies in the direction we choose. Uranus wants us to take the road less traveled, so don’t be scared to throw the rulebook out the window and see where you wind up when you try things a little differently.

The 20th is a spectacular day, and not least because it is the Solar Equinox! This is like the astrological New Year as the Sun slips out of Pisces and into Aries, beginning a fresh twelve-month tour of the zodiac, and ushering in a fresh burst of energy that can help propel us forward into the future. This would be a good day to set yourself some goals for the year to come, so you will have something to show for yourself by the time this cycle comes to a completion in March of 2027.

Mercury is also turning direct on the 20th, bringing some much-needed clarity in its wake. Mercury has been retrograde in Pisces since February 26th, but now we can relax a little as Mercury begins powering forward once again. It will take a week or two for Mercury to reach its usual speed, but this change can help us all manifest our dreams that much more easily. 

The 28th is quite seismic, as karmic Saturn and alchemical Pluto form a rare yet supportive sextile. These two planets haven’t aligned since they conjoined at the same degree of Capricorn in January of 2020, which you might remember as being about the time the world began to go through the first stages of all the drama that followed in that particularly eventful year. Now, the good news is that this sextile is much less intense than the conjunction, but we may still witness some major changes on the global landscape.

 Saturn is all about structure and following the rules while Pluto is all about revolution and transformation, so this is going to be the catalyst for a lot of new events that will play out in the months to come. However, with Saturn in Aries encouraging us to take responsibility for ourselves, and Pluto in Aquarius encouraging mass awakening and egalitarian causes, this is no time to give up control. This sextile is saying that we all need to take responsibility for our lives and our behavior in ways that are more socially conscious, and that refusing to do this will result in you getting left behind. Act accordingly.

Last but not least, Venus enters Taurus on the 30th, returning to her home sign for her annual visit. Venus does wonderfully in Taurus, and is all about indulging our sensory pleasures, so be sure to enjoy life to the fullest with good food, beautiful surroundings, pleasant smells, and anything else you can do to make your world that much more pleasing. Remember, however, that as wonderful as it can be to roll around in the flowers of someone else’s garden, it can be much more rewarding when we take the time to plant our own.
