Welcome to April, everyone! This month features a lot of fast-paced energy and dynamic shifts, so don’t be shocked if April feels much faster and action-packed than the last couple of months, which were a bit sticky and sluggish even at the best of times.

April kicks off right on the 1st with a powerful Full Moon in Libra, reminding us of the importance of partnerships and sharing our time and affection with others. This is wonderful for romantic connections, especially if you are looking to take your relationship to the next level, but this same energy is also helpful for business partnerships or very close platonic bonds. This would be a terrific time for signing any contracts or hashing out any important agreements, as everyone involved is sure to get a fair deal, especially now that Mercury is no longer kicking up dust after March’s retrograde cycle.

Passionate Mars moves into its home sign of Aries on the 9th, joining the Sun in the sign of the Ram where it will remain for the next six weeks. This is the first time in about two years that Mars has been in Aries, and it is a completely different energy than Mars in Pisces. Mars in Pisces is not a great combination, as it can be difficult to summon our passion and drive when we need it most, but it will feel like a night-and-day difference now that the warrior planet is occupying go-go-go Aries until mid-May. This combination can make us all eager to throw our hats in the ring and say the first thing that comes into our heads, but it is important to consider our words before we speak them, as it can be rather easy to say things we may regret when the cosmic communicator is in this red-hot territory. It’s wonderful to be energized and enthusiastic, quite another to shove our feet in our mouths before we have time to weigh our own words.

The Aries New Moon arrives on the 17th, setting off a powerful wave of energy and passion that will push us forward at lightning speed. This Moon will be conjunct the asteroid Chiron, which is all about healing old wounds and helping others with this process in turn, so this lunation will be particularly suited for releasing old trauma or baggage in search of a lighter and wiser existence. What you learn and experience in the wake of this New Moon can bring a lot of healing into your life, but you can also use this energy to help heal others, so don’t think this has to begin and end with you.

The Sun enters Taurus on the 19th, slowing down the cosmic pace and reminding us that there is still plenty of beauty and wonderful things in this world, and that we ought to take time to enjoy them.

However, this beginning of Taurus season will feel particularly eventful, as there will be a series of major alignments happening in Aries and Aquarius, all from the 16th to the 20th, and they will be looping in Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto within the span of a few days. This heady combination could bring some major new developments both in our personal lives and the global stage, so keep your eyes peeled.

Venus and Uranus make their annual conjunction on the 23rd, syncing up at the last degree of Taurus, encouraging us all to experience romance and beauty a little bit differently. We may choose to aesthetically express ourselves more openly, or choose to wear our hearts on our sleeves in new and unexpected ways. This is the last time these two will align in Taurus for about 80 years, so this conjunction can pack quite the punch, exciting though it will be.

Venus makes moves on the 24th as she leaves behind her home sign of Taurus and dances into Gemini for the next few weeks, where she will be happy to gossip and flirt and experience all of life’s pleasantries. Last but not least, rebel Uranus enters Gemini on the 25th, beginning a lengthy tour that will last until 2033, during which time the way we communicate and exchange information will undergo major changes and transformations. Uranus is the great disrupter, and while it was in Taurus we experienced a lot of technological innovation and change in the financial sector, some for good, some far more questionable (hello, Bitcoin?) but now Uranus will be expressing its urge for going against the grain in an entirely different way, and it will not be an overnight process. We will also likely witness a lot of changes to methods of public transportation, and developments within the concepts of “local community” and how we interact within them. There may be major developments in the automobile industry, and even within phone services, and what roles we allow our communication devices to play in our day to day lives.
