You Pulled The Star Tarot Card – Now What?

Right after the destruction and turmoil of the Tower appears the Star – a card which, if we had to sum it up, means the calm after the storm has come.

The 17th card of the Major Arcana usually depicts a nude woman pouring a jug of water into a river with twinkling stars overhead. The Star Tarot card represents hope, faith, healing, and inspiration.

We look to the stars, too, for hope, guidance, and light. They remind us that there is a world other than this one, one which isn’t so harsh and dangerous. The stars in the sky call to us and remind us of otherwordly places where destruction and devastation do not exist, such as what happens in the preceding card, the Tower.

The Star card reminds us that all is not lost, and the sun will always rise the next day.

What Does the Star Card Mean?

The Star has a variety of meanings attached to it, including:

  • Finding serenity: experiencing peace of mind, finding inner balance, and savoring the calm.
  • Generosity: opening your heart, sharing your time and resources, and giving back what you received.
  • Having hope: believing in the future, realizing things will get better, looking forward to what is to come.
  • Inspiration: feeling motivated, finding your inner strength, and seeing the path forward with greater clarity.

It is a lovely card to get in readings most of the time. Many feel it brings a sense of peace just looking at it!

What Does the Star Card Mean in Love & Relationships?

In love and relationships, The Star Tarot card can mean several things.

In an existing relationship, it often highlights that the relationship has a magical quality to it, one of hope and inspiration. You may experience your share of challenges, but this card indicates you can work through them and become stronger from them. It represents a lot of faith that the relationship can thrive and bring you closer together than ever.

In the position of feelings, it can mean that someone feels the other person is the “light of their life” or “the star in their sky.” The person adores you, and you are beautiful to them, inside and out. You represent strength, hope, and faith to this person.

However, as feelings, this card can also have an opposite meaning. It could mean the person feels “cold” or “distant” towards you. It could mean that someone feels you are out of their reach or out of their league (especially if coupled with the 6 of Wands). The stars in the sky are beautiful and wonderful to look at, but they are far away – we cannot reach them. We can only look at them from a distance.

What Does the Star Card Mean in a Career Reading?

In a Tarot career reading, the Star card is extremely welcome if you have been experiencing problems in your career or job.

It shows that someone good is coming for you, and it is a job that will leave you feeling fulfilled. It encourages you to keep having hope and faith and to not give up.

The Star Tarot card in a career reading can also mean working in the entertainment industry and even indicate a role involving some kind of celebrity status.

What About the Star Card as an Obstacle?

As an obstacle, the Star can indicate being naive and overly idealistic.

It could mean that you are not focusing on the reality of the situation, and instead, you are looking at things in a starry-eyed/rose-tinted manner which could leave you feeling hurt or disappointed.

It could indicate having too much wishful thinking and are not being grounded in reality.

What About the Star Card in Reverse?

When the Star Tarot card is reversed, it usually means you have lost faith and hope in yourself, others, and/or the Universe.

It can indicate despair to the degree that it is manifesting in physical sickness. It highlights a lack of creativity, boredom, a sense of hopelessness, and a lack of inspiration.

When the Star is reversed, it often means that you can no longer see the light ahead and you may feel overwhelmed by life’s challenges at this time.
